United Kingdom Brighton Boom† - * Breaking News ! Shock Transfers! *

These are the days a humble reporter lives for.

Last night we are in the Palace hotel after some routine interviews at the Red Bull. (more to come on that later). - When a huge scuffle breaks out in the bar. Davies, the Welsh no.2 goalie at the Boom launches himself at Stanislav Bakos. Bakos is Brighton's defensive coach and takes on the role of training the keepers. Anyhow, Bakos goes flying back across the bar. Davies's right hook sends the old coach smashing through the various glasses and bottles on the top table.

'Take that you old goat' Davies, about to pounce on top of the venerable coach is barely restrained by Jonathan Keene who grabs the Welsh goaltender by the shoulders and within about ten seconds five boom players are in the fight.

Were stood over by the press table -

'Jack, grab the bloody camera.' -

Jack our photographer has a boulesque lady dressed in what can only be desribed loosly as a devil's negligee draped around him.

Jack leaps up. The girl stumbles back into Gabi Draghescu who immediately seizes the chance to scoop her up and carry her out of the bar. (We didn't see Gabi again that evening).

The camera gun goes off. Rat-at-tat-a-click-a-click...

Meanwhile, some other league players who had been invited to the party join in - in what can only be described as a full on melee at the bar. Some Fodder, some Lincoln, some Kop and Lucenec players all seem to be in there.

A champagne bottle explodes above my head. The glass shards burst across me.

The scene is bedlam.

* Next Morning *

The bill for the damage came to £35,000

Four players are currently missing.

Draghicescu
Kopecky
Davies
Dutkiewicz

And the news is that in a last second shock move the UK Handball Giant Inter Lincoln came in and put three suitcases of cash(48m) on the boardroom table for the unsettled no.2 keeper. Lincoln also in a sweetner deal also took the highly rated Czech, Kopecky for almost 20m.

The statement from the club is brief.

' We thank Nick for his time here. He has been a model proffesional and for him it's slightly unfortunate that he's always had to be a no.2. We and everyone who knows him realise that he has huge ability and on many occasion he made some very crucial saves. We wish him all the best at Lincoln. They have a very advanced training set-up over there that I'm sure he'll benefit from. He may even graduate to the Uk set-up. He certainly has the potential.

It's going to feel a little awkward firing shots against him. - But he's a Inter Lincoln player now and it will certainly add more edge into the league as if there wasn't enough already !'

Further news is that one season mercenary Dutkiewicz was also sold for around 19m.

As for Draghicescu, as yet he hasn't shown up for training !
